Ibn Mada's Ideas :
كِتابُ الرّدّ على النّحاة ـ لابن مَضَاء القرطبي

Ibn Mada' al-Qurtubi and the Book in Refutation of the Grammarians. (1984 PHD Thesis by Ronald G Wolfe)

Evaluation of Ibn Maḍāʼ's criticism of the Arab Grammarians. (1985 PHD Thesis by Naji Abdeljabbar Abdeljaber, University of Michigan)
As per the book preview it seems like a very important book for my planned detailed posts on case theory.

Selection 1 and Selection 2 from
Aspects of sentence analysis in the Arabic linguistic tradition, with particular reference to ellipsis .

Selection from Ibn Mada's Criticism of Arabic Grammarians by Kojiro Nakamura (1974)

The Originality of Ibn Mada's Linguistic Ideas

Ibrahim Mustafa's Ideas :
إحياء النّحو
Printed edition in Arabic : Preface , Book .
Typed edition in Arabic: Book .
Introduction in English extracted from 1984 PHD thesis by Ronald G Wolfe linked above. His understanding of considering accusative case as the default case does not seem correct to me, though his work is still worth studying for useful ideas and for getting new ideas.

Reform Ideas and Works by some other scholars
في النّحو العربي نقد وتوجيه ـ مهدي المخزومي
نحو التّيسير دراسة ونقد منهجيّ ـ أحمد عبدالسّتار
الإعراب والتركيب بين الشكل والنسبة ـ دراسة تفسيرية

The need to return to focus on usage and use cases as done by some Classical Scholars like Khaleel :
كتاب الجمل في النّحو ـ الخليل بن أحمد الفراهيدي
Download Al Jumal fin-Nahw by Al Khaleel bin Ahmad Al-Farahidi
He focuses on usage and use cases e.g. 51 use cases for accusative / subjunctive case. Then further work by us is required to try to make groups of similar use cases and try to understand common reasons or meaning shades e.g. state.
Quick study tool is also available for Khaleel's book.
